Job Summary:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Record, account and report on business and financial transactions;

The Finance and Administration Senior Manager will provide oversight for all financial and operational aspects of the project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures appropriate systems and cost effective, timely procedures such as cash management, vendor payments, and budgeting are in place to properly disburse, account, budget and report funds and have the proper internal controls.
Provide technical assistance as required to build financial management capacity of local partners and grantees.
Review technical and financial proposals from local NGOs including negotiating annual budgets, and reviews grantee financial expenditure reports for accuracy and adherence to the SOW and budget.
Implement and monitor cost effective and efficient systems and procedures.
Oversee administrative and financial support team members.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

•Ensure that financial operations are in conformity with the accounting manual and other funding agency requirements and also review and update the accounting manual.
•Establish and oversee budget preparation and give accurate and timely reports on expenditures and balances.
•Liaise with the internal and external auditor and ensure that audit recommendations are implemented on a timely basis.
•Progressively evaluating the accounting system for performance and necessary upgrade
•Analytical review of the financial records to ensure correctness and conformity with the acceptable accounting guidelines.
•Assist with the supervision of the finance team as they process transactions, enter data into the accounting packages, carry out reconciliations, produce financial reports and carry out other departmental functions.
•Conduct data checks on a regular basis for correctness and accuracy.
•Payroll preparation and related report production ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines like NSSF and PAYE.
•Ensure that the reports to the funders are submitted in the appropriate format and within strict timelines.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

•The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s of commerce degree with a bias in accounting, and full qualifications in ACCA or its equivalent is essential.
•Three or more year's proven working experience in a busy donor — funded organization with two years working as supervisor in a busy accounts department and must have proficiency in use of Excel.
•Use of computerized accounting packages as Navision is a desirable qualification.
•High degree of integrity, excellent management and good communication skills, team player, be pro-active, demonstrate close attention to detail, and be willing to take up new challenges and initiatives to benefit the organization.
