Job Summary:
The Head of Information Systems will be leading / managing the IT Team, the IS Head’s main role is to solve problems in a multi-server environment, through a variety of software systems and applications in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures, Donor compliance regulations, deadlines, contractual targets and budgets
The key deliverable will be to ensure that all information systems for programme activities are integrated; accessible to Senior management team via  dashboard and all programmes have the necessary information systems tools and support. The  Radio Field Engineer will have the responsibility to ensure the proper development and operation of the radio access network.

The Radio Field Engineer will be a key professional in the early stages of our network deployment, ensuring all our sites are properly prepared for installation of radio and microwave equipment as per requirements of the design, and needs of the network infrastructure supplier.  Site development also must take place according to the procedures of the site owners.  As the person on the ground preparing the sites, the Radio Field Engineer will ensure that all participants in the site development are obtaining what they need as per the project plan time line.

The Radio Field Engineer will communicate with the Group CTO about progress according to plan, and take action to ensure all installation of hardware and the equipment at sites is of the highest quality.

After the launch of service, the Radio Field Engineer will provide guidance to Radio Technicians on the team, and help supervise their activities in coordination with the Network Operation Team Leader.  This includes preventative and remedial maintenance of all of the sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Get all sites up and running on time, ensuring Afrimax responsibilities are met according to plan, and tracking and pressuring site owners and the network vendor to accomplish their tasks on time
-Work with the full Afrimax Technical Team to ensure all are informed on site progress and understand the issues.  Help others on the team as necessary.
-Ensure power, rigging, rf head, antenna placement, and equipment cabinet is all installed, and tested on time, at all sites.
-Follow communication procedures with site owners and follow up on all forms and tasks.
-Resolve issues causing delays while developing a good relationship with the site owners and network equipment vendor.
-Learn the technical specifics and operation of the eNodeB and the microwave equipment, become Afrimax Uganda subject matter expert on these important parts of our system.
-Ensure all fiber service to sites is set up properly and runs smoothly.
-Ensure that site owners provide the security Afrimax is promised, and be ensure our equipment is as safe as possible.
-Continually be a mentor to all radio techs, and support the entire organization with knowledge of the radio technology.
-Be involved in the planning so Network Phases 2 through 9 can proceed.
-Lead the expansion of the RAN as needed.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

-The candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
