Job Summary:   Reporting to the Sector Head, the Relationship Manager – Corporate and Institutional Banking will be responsible for managing corporate relationships within business segments through origination in line with targets and expectations.  The Relationship Manager will be responsible for offering the best customer experience to the assigned clientele to ensure retention and growth of the business through a deeper understanding of the client’s business and operations to enable the Bank to grow its share of wallet by meeting the client business needs


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


*Provide superior Relationship Management, Customer Retention, Loyalty preference & devotion to corporate relationships.

*Work with Senior Relationship Managers or Segment Heads to upskill understanding of market, sales, and product understanding.

*Sell the Bank’s products to corporate customers including Multinationals, Large Corporates, Development organizations, Government, and other parastatals to enhance growth in customer numbers and achieve overall financial targets.

*Analyze and compare our product offer, service, pricing, and financial performance against competition, and give feedback from market-market intelligence, to remain relevant and competitive to be the preferred financial provider in the market.

*Identify new or additional business openings in the market research and information gathering.

*Improve Relationship Management through regular visits, timely feedback to clients & continuous anticipation of their needs with the aim of exceeding their expectations.

*Cross-selling and retention of borrowing vs. Non–borrowing clients in branches to maintain a clean & updated database.

*Addressing/resolving corporate customer complaints and providing feedback in a timely manner.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


*University Graduate (Hons).

*Skills in Sales, Credit & Relationship Management will be an added advantage.

*Track record in Sales Management.

*Five (5) Years’ experience in Banking of which two to three (2-3) should be in Relationship Management & Sales.

*Computer knowledge especially spread sheets, word & power point.

*Relevant Business experience and acumen.

*Outgoing, self-motivated and a good team player able to work under minimum supervision- Self-drive and initiative.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


*Champion and lead the vision, mission and strategy. Lead the design of medium and long-term goals. Ensure program and operations leads coordinate their objectives in alignment with the strategy.

*Ensure that all projects meet and exceed donor expectations and are designed and implemented for maximum impact and reach. Ensure the CRS program quality standards are adhered to per MEAL policy and procedures.

*Effectively manage senior programming and operations talent. Manage team dynamics and staff well-being. Provide coaching and mentoring for Head of Operations and Programs. Strategically tailor individual development plans and complete performance assessments for direct reports. Oversee the development of staffing plans for large and complex projects and the recruitment process of senior staff.

*Lead the development of strategic partnerships with national and international organizations that leverages resources, reputation, and expertise in line with CRS partnership principles. Ensure strong representation to key stakeholders, including Church partners, local and national government, US government and international donors.

*Manage and mitigate risk through monitoring national and regional issues that may impact staff and programming. Ensure all staff understand and adhere to CRS staff safety and security policies and plans and ensure the updating of such plans.

*Promote, uphold and model a commitment to the efficient use of agency and donor resources. Ensure compliance in operations functions. Provide oversight and analysis regarding monthly expenditures.

*Lead and direct the pursuit of strategic growth opportunities, prepositioning and capture planning.

*Create and maintain proper conditions for learning. Establish a safe environment for sharing of ideas, solutions, and difficulties and the capacity to detect, analyze and respond quickly to deficiencies. Promote accountability, learning and knowledge management overseeing application of the MEAL policy, as well as cross-sectoral and cross-department learning.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


*The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in international development, International Relations, or a related field.

*Ten or more years of experience managing complex relief and development programs.

*Excellent strategic, analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills, with capacity to see the big picture and ability to make sound judgment and decisions.

Position Overview

Educate!, a fast-growing nonprofit social enterprise, is looking for two External Relations Associates to join our ambitious, high-performing External Relations team. With geographic flexibility within East Africa, the External Relations Associates will help us meet and exceed our growth goals to fuel Educate!’s impact.

Performance Objectives


1) Fundraising

Within this role, you’ll work with Educate!’s fundraising and development team to ensure the organization meets and exceeds our obligations to current donors by keeping stakeholders informed on Educate!’s progress. Examples of potential projects include:

• Write and project manage grant reports and proposals, working closely with Educate! teams across countries to gather information needed for reporting and donor materials.

• Conduct field follow-ups and diligence requests from donors related to pending or submitted grant proposals.

• Research new funding and prospective leads and support in the documentation and ongoing project management of these relationships.

• Support the fundraising team in streamlining internal systems and processes to ensure grant reporting and compliance are effective and efficient.

• Contribute to Educate!’s fundraising and relationship-building strategy at conferences through prospect research, event preparation, and outreach support.


2) Communications

You’ll work closely with our communications team to shape and execute the organization’s marketing and communications strategy, collaborating closely to produce content, manage and improve systems, and ensure consistent branding and messaging standards.

• Work with Educate!’s communications team to support messaging and branding initiatives, overseeing systems for documentation and disseminating messaging to ensure consistency across the organization.

• Manage a centralized dashboard for routine communications tasks with efficient coordination and execution.

• Ensure Educate!’s internal and external communication channels are up to date.

• Liaise with Educate!’s Communications Specialist to create compelling content, including impact stories, articles, blogs, social media posts, print publications, and email newsletters.

• Draft proposals for speaking engagements and content for external sources to drive Educate!’s key thought leadership messages.


3) General Support

Educate! is growing quickly and we don’t always know everything the coming years will

bring. We are looking for a team player who is happy to wear a variety of hats on Educate!’s External Relations Team, and tag in where there is a need. Some of the things we envision this role supporting include:

• Draft a wide variety of internal and external communications to support Educate!’s fundraising and communications efforts.

• Conduct donor research and/or sector research to inform Educate!’s development strategy.

• Support Educate!’s executive team’s attendance at a variety of special events.

• Troubleshoot and project manage tasks aimed at improving efficiency and coordination on Educate!’s wider External Relations Team, such as building or refining existing fundraising, communications, or compliance processes.

Purpose of the position:
To effectively Manage AP Registered children Sponsorship Operations, community engagement, participation and protection within acceptable partnership standards, in a manner that contributes to sustained improved child wellbeing .

Key Outputs/Responsibilities.
• Management of Sponsorship Performance and Quality Assurance in accordance to WVI partnership standards
• Manage all Sponsorship operations and Reporting using sponsorship using Horizon
• Ensure RC Monitoring Status (CMS) is maintained within partnership standards

Purpose of the Role: The Country Director (CD) position is a key role in the Farm Africa global senior management team which comes together every quarter to share progress and review the strategic direction of the organisation. In country he/she will set the strategic direction of the Uganda country programme in line with Farm Africa's global strategy and Uganda's national development plans. The CD will play a pivotal in driving donor and partner relationships and funding opportunities; and ensuring a healthy pipeline for the country programme that both builds on existing initiatives and expands our technical and geographic presence.

On day to day basis the CD will also lead, manage and provide practical guidance to the programme delivery, finance and country office teams. In particular, the CD will support the Programme Manager in the setting and delivering of project goals; ensuring quality and timely delivery of project outputs, and long-term achievement of project outcomes; and reporting. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring staff, volunteers and beneficiaries are safeguarded; building the technical capacity of the programme team; and ensuring that teams are aware of and are using key Farm Africa tools (Programme Management Tool, Monitoring and Learning Plans, Budget Management Reporting Tool). The CD will drive excellence in technical design ensuring projects are designed where possible based on Farm Approaches papers.

Externally the Country Director is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with senior counterparts in partner governments, donors and private sector and raising the profile of Farm Africa's work carried out in country.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

The key responsibilities of the Country Director are:

To set the strategic direction of the programme in Uganda and ensure a healthy programme pipeline

·        Set the strategic direction for the FA Uganda programme based on the FA mission and values, and aligned with technical approaches developed within the organisation

·        Develop innovative programmes that build on our core competencies of Agriculture (including livestock), Natural Resource Management and Market Engagement.

·        Work with the Business Development team to develop a proactive funding strategy based on the donor opportunities

To be the key contact for new business for the Business Development team in the UK. Responsible for feeding into the pipeline and keeping team in UK up to date with progress as well as soliciting their help and advice on identifying opportunities

·        Identify and develop new opportunities for Farm Africa to assist our core communities of farmers and forest communities through grant funding, private sector partnerships, commercial contracts and consultancies

·        Play a hands-on role in technical project design and preparing proposals for submission, in close collaboration with other country programmes and relevant departments in London (especially the Business Development).

·        Oversee development of high-quality, accurate, budgets to accompany funding proposals with a minimum of 15% cost recovery.

·        Be a champion for evidence-based results across the portfolio, supporting teams to generate credible evidence and reflect on how to achieve excellence, representing lessons learned, and ensuring the future direction of the programme builds towards feeding into policy

To ensure excellent in programme management and delivery

·        Ensure that Farm Africa's projects attain the highest standards of delivery, effectiveness and value for money and are delivered in accordance with Farm Africa and Donor policies and contractual obligations.

·        Ensure that key project management tools are being used by the team to guide timely high- quality project delivery

·        Ensure a 100% burn rate against approved budgets and a minimum of 15% cost recovery across the Uganda programme

·        In close collaboration with the global programmes leadership, be responsible for the programme cycle in Uganda from beginning to end - and in particular deliver excellent in contract management, project delivery and compliance processes

·        Partner management, and in particular partner due diligence, ensuring appropriate contracting mechanisms are in place and that partners are held accountable for delivering against them

·        Work closely with Farm Africa's head of monitoring and evaluation to ensure that strong M&E plans are in place, delivered against, and used to effectively, measure the impact of our work, improve project design and provide evidence to influence external stakeholders

To ensure that Farm Africa Uganda is operating efficiently, safely and in accordance with internal, legal and fiscal guidelines and frameworks

·        Oversee the annual budget development process - ensuring that internal budgets are accurate and aligned with contractual obligations

·        Ensure that cash flow for Uganda Programme is managed efficiently an in accordance with agreed guidelines and timetables

·        Ensure that all staff are trained in, and fully understand, all financial and operational processes and procedures and are operating in line with them

·        Ensure that Farm Africa is operating in accordance with applicable statutory and fiscal frameworks in Uganda

·        As overall Security Focal Point for Uganda keep the global SMT updated on any security issues as and when they arise

·        Ensure that appropriate Security Management Plans (SMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are embedded and adhered to in each field location; and updated as appropriate

Leadership and line management

·        Lead the Uganda team, with a particular focus on staff development and proactive performance management

·        Ensure that all staff are adhering to, and being managed in line with, Farm Africa's Staff Handbook, and that it is up to date and reflects current statutory obligations in Uganda

·        Ensure that the Ugandan team are fully conversant with their obligations and duties in relation to Farm Africa Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policies

·        Responsible for the overall line management of the Uganda SMT, and ensuring Farm Africa's Performance Management approach (induction, probation, mid-term and annual reviews and one to ones) is in place and being cascaded through to all team members

Corporate leadership and organisational representation

·        As a key member of the FA senior management team, provide broader leadership across the organisation, contributing to the overall strategy and future growth

·        Ensure outstanding communication of programme information across the organisation, working closely with the other directors and senior managers on internal learning and knowledge management

·        Work closely with Farm Africa's head of monitoring and evaluation to develop knowledge products from our projects and externally showcase results

·        Working with the Programme Quality Team, lead our external influencing of policy and the dissemination of learning and knowledge in Uganda to ensure Farm Africa is seen externally as an expert in our chosen sectors of Agriculture, Natural Resource Management and Markets.

·        Build, strengthen and manage relationships with key stakeholders including donors, governments, private sector actors and other NGOs in Uganda and the wider region

Job Profile:

Cambridge Education has been appointed by the Department for International Development (DFID) as Managing Agent on the Uganda Strengthening Education Systems for Improved Learning (SESIL). SESIL seeks to impact on the equity and quality of measurable learning outcomes for girls and boys in Uganda, the programme will focus on three core components:

(i) Building strong foundations – to increase the numbers of girls and boys reaching grade appropriate learning standards in literacy and numeracy in primary schools;

(ii) Enhancing assessment and exams – to strengthen the assessment system so that it leads to more Ugandan children learning what matters for their future;


(iii). Supporting a mixed economy – to support the Government of Uganda to work more effectively with non-state providers and financiers of education, including through direct support to a network of secondary schools.

The role of District Systems Strengthening Coordinator will sit within the “Programme Technical Team’ which is responsible for ensuring that all technical aspects of SESIL run effectively. This Team will be based both in the National office in MoES Legacy Towers and in the Regional Offices (Arua and Mbale)

SESIL has a package of interventions to support districts to improve learning for all children by better managing for results.
The package is made up of inter-connected and mutually dependent activities which, in combination, will strengthen district education systems in a lasting, sustainable way.
The main areas of development involve four main groups of stakeholders: district managers, school leaders and teachers, as well as parents and communities.

Specialist technical support to these district-based staff will come through the regional support teams who will provide technical guidance and operational oversight. These regional staff will work out of a small regional project office, with appropriate administrative and logistical support.

Support Implementation of Strategy and Programme

·        With support from the DPD Business Partnerships, Portfolio Coordinators, MERL and MDOs will coordinate field level diagnostic market research activities such as identifying stakeholders and partners, profiling potential partners arranging meeting and interviews.

·        Support formulation of strategies to develop markets in the selected value chains  and seek opportunities to work as per the sector strategy. Participate in development of intervention strategies and implementation procedures in a participatory manner with key stakeholders.

·        With Guidance from Portfolio Coordinators work closely with the Market Systems Officers to organize co-design workshops, and meetings with PSA partners to co-create market systems development interventions with private sector partners in targeted value chains that can create opportunities for youth at scale

·        Work closely with monitoring evaluation learning and communication team in setting baseline indexes of targeted businesses and track progress against set business capacity performance parameters.

·        Support MDOs to follow up implementation and verification of market development interventions (such as last mile smart input distribution systems, contract farming, output aggregation models etc) to improve the way markets function and champion integration of rural young women and men farmers in market systems, whilst ensuring synergy and maximizing programme impact.

·        Work with the Portfolio Coordinators, Market Systems Officers and partner technical staff to ensure that the interventions are implemented on the ground are in line with the programme results frame, and is in compliance with the market systems approach, to ensure programme targets are met.

·        In coordination with the district implementation teams and portfolio Coordinators, conduct monitoring activities on market systems interventions, review the adequacy of programme execution according to approved plans, targets and standards.

·        Establish dialogue and partnerships among local business services providers, lead firms, producer and trade associations and other relevant market actors to facilitate development of business relationships and increase access to critical good and services to rural young women and men, and to strengthen market linkages among them.

·        Participate in the development of the programme work plans and budgets

Contribute to Program Quality Control, Learning and adaptive management

·        At field level work closely with partner staff to ensure technical quality of implementation.

·        Work closely with GOAL Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to ensure accurate and timely reporting

First operational in Uganda in 1979, the current GOAL Uganda country programme focuses on Health (including WASH, Health Accountability and Nutrition programming); and a market based systems approach to improving agricultural livelihoods and WASH. GOAL Uganda mainstreams gender, child protection, social behaviour change and resilience strategies across all programming. GOAL works on a district focused approach and uses a mixture of direct implementation and partnerships with national and international civil society organizations, local government, the private sector and communities to give effect to our mission.

GOAL Uganda has a skilled team of approximately 100 personnel and manages an annual operating budget of approximately €8.7 million (2018). GOAL is currently operational in the North, South, East and West of Uganda with six established offices in Kampala, Lira, Bugiri, Abim, Kaabong and Agago Districts. GOAL Uganda country programme is funded by a number of donors who include Mastercard, charity: water, Irish Aid and some small foundations.

 Young Africa Works: Market for Youth

GOAL has been awarded a 5 years funding programme by the Mastercard Foundation. The program is called Young Africa Works Uganda - Markets for Youth. The overall objective of Young Africa Works in Uganda: Markets for Youth will be: Facilitating market systems change that enables 300,000 rural young women and men to access in dignified and fulfilling work in Uganda. To achieve this overall objective, the proposed intervention will focus on the following four outcomes, outlined below. Outcome 1 - rural young women and men, and their enterprises, have access to and are using informal and formal financial services and products; Outcome 2 - rural young women and men have received skills training, market intelligence and have participated in learning opportunities to upgrade practice and management in on and off farm enterprises; Outcome 3 - rural young women and men, and their enterprises, have access to and are participating in on and off farm activities in the agricultural market system; Outcome 4 -  rural young women and men have collectively and collaboratively worked together to increase their purchasing and influencing power in the agricultural market system. The programme employs the Making Markets Work Better for the Poor (M4P) approach to market development
