About Project:
Save the Children seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for an upcoming project that will strengthen and improve the quality and availability of services in public health facilitIes in select provinces within Uganda. The proposed positions are contingent on Save the Children being awarded the Cooperative agreement for this five year USAID-funded project Uganda Advocacy for Better Health .
Job Summary:
The Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will offer technical support in the Design, monitoring and Evaluation of the program. S/he will be pivotal in identifying, designing and rolling cut monitoring and evaluation principles and frameworks essential to the needs of this program.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant should have five years professional experience in a senior M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities of international
• development projects.
• The applicant should possess a Master's Degree in Development Studies or any relevant discipline;
• At least eight (8) years' experience and demonstrated practical skills in monitoring and evaluation of voice and accountability programs;
• Demonstrated ability and skills in analysts and report writing is essential.
• Excellent knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and practices is essential;
• Knowledge and significant experience in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and systems required for community development programs are essential.

Background:
Education Volunteers are assigned to government and non-government colleges and schools who partner to enable Volunteers to provide capacity building in Education.
Purpose of Position. This position is aimed at providing assistance and support to an education programming and training team to support primary school pre-service and in-service teacher training and other related education efforts as part of a national-level technical effort by  Peace Corps.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinates with Education team regarding development and  management of Peace Corps’s education activities.
• Compile program reports for PC/Uganda, USAID/Uganda and PC/HQ to demonstrate the use and impact of PC/Uganda’s contributions to education in Uganda.
• Assist to develop over 40 Volunteer work sites with colleges and schools throughout Uganda and provide technical resource information and technical training and coaching to Volunteers and their counterparts, including monitoring their work.
• Supports Volunteers to be prepared through training activities before and during service.
• Co-develops an Education Project Advisory Committee.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Education;
• Experience of at least three years teaching experience at the primary school level and three years as a Registered Tutor of the Ugandan MOES.
• Preferred experience: One year with relevant non-profit organizations or private businesses.
• Peace Corps Uganda is looking for a dynamic and experience professional in the education field to fill the Education Specialist position. The applicant should have the passion and creative drive to join this project technically supporting over 40 Volunteers.
