Responsibilities
To  Support  development  and implementation  of  advocacy  strategies  , campaigns  and processes  in conjuction  with  program  staff  and partiners at local and national  levels
 To provide  process –oriented support  , advice  and capacity  building  to programs  staff  and partiners in advocacy .
To lead  on policy  research  /analysis  and  production  policy  briefs  as tools  in advocacy
To link  with  stakeholders on advocacy  at local  and national  levels
Requirements;
A  3- year  good  bachelors degree  in the relevant  field .
Minimum  5 years  of  demonstrable  experience  working  in Uganda  either  delivering  humanitarian / development  programs  or  in  delivering  effective  advocacy  and  campaigning .
Good understanding  of the  Uganda  context is essential
Demonstrated  experience  of  operating  in a conflict  environment  and  sensitively  managing  complex  relationships .
Strong understanding  of and  proven  commitment  to gender  and diversity  issues
Good  understanding  of humanitarian  principles  and  international  humanitarian law.

Travel Assistant Job Vacancy at United States Embassy in Kampala
Job Title: Travel Assistant; FP-7 FSN-7
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, management or finance is required.
• The applicant should possess six years working experience. Specifically: five years of progressively responsible administrative management experience in public health field or a health-related international development organization; and an additional one year of experience at the managerial level that includes direct supervision of staff.
• Language required: Level IV (fluency – speaking/reading/writing in English) is required.
• Good knowledge of Agency and applicable inter agency management operations, to include financial management, human resources, procurement and contracting (including grants, contracts and/or cooperative agreement audit and accounting requirements), travel, IT, and other administrative procedures, regulations, and requirements is required.
• Broad knowledge and understanding of leadership and management strategies and models is also required.
• The ability to assess problems and develop realistic solutions (how to plan for and administer available resources of funds, personnel and equipment in the best interest of PEPFAR program objectives) is required.
• Excellent inter-personal skills in order to coordinate with USG and implementing/cooperating partners to ensure mutual cooperation are required.
• Ability to plan budget expenditures to meet PEPFAR-program needs is required.
• Ability to coordinate and negotiate effectively with host government, ICASS providers and inter-agency partners is required. Intermediate user level of word processing, spreadsheets and databases is required.
• A facility to work with higher mathematical calculations for purposed of reporting is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• The job holder assists travelers making travel arrangements to include making recommendations, consistent with all travel regulations and post guidance, about travel routes, lodging options, per diem allowances, mixed transport options, etc.
• Advises USG direct hire staff about their travel related entitlements and ensures that their travel authorizations conform to the regulations.
• Coordinates with the Travel Agent/Contractor and Customs & Shipping staff to ensure that travel related permissions/formalities (visas, medical, time, etc) are adhered to.
• Works with Travel Agent/Contractor to ensure that tickets are issued for properly approved travel authorizations.
• Maintains recordkeeping to support validation and research needs, with a focus on softcopy recordkeeping wherever possible.
• Working with relevant Management Section staff, maintains appropriate contacts with travel vendors.
• Coordinates with relevant staff to ensure that the travel needs of Mission visitors (including 100s of VIPs per year) are appropriately serviced.
