Job Title: Chief Commercial Officer

Job Summary:

The Chief Commercial Officer is responsible for the Sales, Marketing and Customer Service departments, ensuring customers are managed throughout their lifecycle with the Company.

Key Performance Areas:

-Offer strategic direction, coordinate and implement all aspects of the marketing programmes to meet targeted revenues and subscriber growth;
-Prepare Marketing budgets and manage expenditure within approved budgets;
-Ensure service offerings are relevant to consumers and competitive in the market;
-Ensure that sales targets are achieved and staff are fully trained on all products and services;
-Responsible for providing high levels of customer service that meet Afrimax KPI requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Design, implement, and facilitate annual marketing plan; Support and facilitate development and implementation of brand marketing plans.
-Plan and administer the annual Marketing budget.
-Continuously review pricing, service offerings in light of competitive and consumer activities and trends, recommending actions as appropriate.
-Organize and implement consumer research including: Customer satisfaction surveys, Consumer trend research, U&A studies, Ad hoc research to support service and promotional offerings
-Oversee business development activities including: Investigation of new services, testing and launch; Continuous testing of new ideas to evaluate potential for revenue enhancement.
-Oversee brand communications activities through selected agency(s) including: Above-the-line activities including press, TV, radio and billboard advertising; Below-the-line activities including POS, outlet branding, literature; Customer retention activities including loyalty programs and website; internal staff communications, public relations efforts
-Research, design and launch appropriate promotions, in conjunction with Sales, to meet agreed revenue, customer retention and/or growth objectives; prepare justifications and present case for promotions to General Manager; monitor and evaluate the success of promotional campaigns.
-Develop and administer marketing database that includes client and prospect information, mailing list applications, access to financial reports, etc.
-Supervise Brand managers, VAS manager and Marketing Assistant. Make staffing and hiring decisions within marketing department subject to company policy; undertake annual appraisals.
-Ensure the provision of high standards of customer service, face-to-face or over the phone as required by maintaining adequate staffing levels and continuous training in all aspects of customer service skills and service knowledge.
-Manage the Sales team to achieve and exceed targets, ensuring continuous training of staff and monitoring sales quality through joint visits and regular meetings.

About IJM:

International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems. International Justice Mission (IJM) Uganda is working to eliminate property grabbing in Uganda by bringing rescue and restoration to individual victims, accountability to their perpetrators, and transformation to the public justice system as a whole. As the Human Resources and Administration Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to manage human resources, procurement and general office administration functions in the Kampala office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Human Resources:
Perform HR management functions, including recruiting, on-boarding, training, discipline, compliance, performance management, professional development, documentation, etc.;
Track, monitor and record employee leave, attendance, overtime and working hours;
Support the Director of Finance/Admin in management of employee benefits programs; and
Manage staff care program to encourage emotional and professional health of staff members.

2. Administration:
-Supervise and oversee activities of Day Guard, Housekeeper and contract personnel;
-Perform clerical duties (photocopying, posting, errands, etc.) as needed;
-Receive phone calls and guests on behalf of the Kampala office as needed;
-Assist in hosting guests, visitors, and volunteers; and
-Perform other tasks as assigned.

3. Procurement:
-Procure goods and services to support non-IS and non-Aftercare related office functions;
-Manage relationships and contracts with vendors, utilities and service providers; and
-Maintain and manage adequate stores of office supplies, equipment and small tools.

4. Development: Participate in IJM programs in professionalism and Christian spiritual formation.

5. Travel Requirements:  This position requires limited travel around Kampala during working hours.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

-The applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Business Administration, Human Resources, etc.);
-Five or more years of experience as HR officer, office administrator or similar position;
-Experience working in a professional international business environment preferred;
-Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel;
-Fluency in English and Luganda, with excellent writing and speaking in both; and
-Driver’s license and experience driving manual vehicles preferred.
-Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed;
-Passionate commitment to IJM’s mission and values;
-Professional in demeanor, appearance, writing and oral communication;
-Works well under stress with a sustained positive attitude;
