About FOWODE:
Forum for Women in Democracy is a non-partisan Women’s organization operating in Uganda with its head office in Kampala. The mission of the organization is to promote gender equality in all areas of decision making through capacity development, community empowerment, policy engagement and strategic partnerships.

Job Summary: The primary objective of internship at FOWODE is to provide a platform where young women and men can enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments. Internship at FOWODE is mutually beneficial both to the organisation and interns and is open to all individuals who have interest in promoting gender equality and women’s leadership in the country.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Offer support to the Field Officers in organizing programme activities at the district
-Represent FOWODE at stakeholder meetings in the district
-Actively participate in field and national activities as requested
-Prepare project / activity narrative reports with support from Field Officers
-Support FOWODE in developing proposal and concept ideas
-Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Field Officer

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

-The applicant must hold a relevant Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences Development Studies, Law, Mass Communication and any other related course.
-Have an interest in promoting gender equality and women leadership in Uganda.
-Excellent command of English and the local language of the district they are applying for
-The applicant must also be a resident in the district in which they are applying for internship
-Good computer literacy skills

Job Summary: The Supply and Logistics Officer will primarily be responsible for assisting in the procurement, distribution and monitoring of UNICEF's supplies, in support of the Country Programme.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Assists in the implementation of the supply component of the Country Programme, including a system for the procurement and distribution of supplies to all project sites.
-Interacts with the Programme Section in the preparation of appropriate documents: Supply plans, Supply / contracts requisitions and purchase orders, etc.; according to procurement specifications and supply procedures.
-Support the Supply Manager with logistics planning, and arrangements facilitating efficient clearance, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment to end-users from ports of entry and warehouses.
-Embark on local procurements, as required.
-Participates in CRC. When required, maintains contact with customs and immigration officials, follows up on preliminary supply clearance documentations to facilitate timely customs clearance of supplies and equipment, in keeping with established protocol.
-Performs field visits to project sites and sub-offices to inventory and monitor supply inputs.
-Proposes corrective actions to improve logistical procedures.
-Identifies training needs and develops training activities in supply management for UNICEF's staff/consultants and counterparts, designed to improve supply delivery
-Performs any other duties, as required, by the Supply Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

-The candidate should possess a University degree in Business Administration, Supply & Logistics Management or related field.
-A minimum of two years of professional work experience in supply/logistics management at the national and international levels.
-Demonstrated analytical and negotiating skills.
-Ability to implement training.
-Possess the ability to respond effectively to emergency needs,
-Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in an international multicultural environment.
-Fluency in both spoken and written English
