Job Description:

The US Embassy CDC Voucher Examiner will be responsible for voucher examination for all the administrative and financial vouchers ranging from vendor invoices to completed travel vouchers. The incumbent will also be responsible for entire official staff travel.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
The ideal candidate for the US Embassy career opportunity should have completed secondary education and possess basic accounting knowledge of at least two years of college or technical training is required.
A minimum of two years of progressive experience in voucher examining, book keeping or related fiscal clerical work is required.
Manual, standardized regulations, Department of State and CDC regulations and procedures is required.
Possess the ability to understand the basic requirements of applicable regulations and procedures in order to handle average to moderate voucher examining cases is required.
Good computer literacy skills and a typing speed of not less than 40 words per minute are required.

Sensitize the Community and Local authorities on Refugee law and Human Rights relating to refugees and others of concern to UNHCR, in order to ensure that national legislation is in compliance with International Legal Standards.
Advocate for legal aid services from the different legal aid service providers and Pro bono services from legal practitioners for the purpose of disposing of refugee cases at court.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate should hold a Law degree/ human rights or a comparable discipline
Three or more years’ work experience in the same field of development and humanitarian work and NGOs’
Possess the ability to produce high-quality legal documentation
Ability to present and defend cases in a court of law
Excellent presentation and communication skills and the ability to interact with a number of different partners and contacts, including governmental authorities, UNHCR, victims and their families etc.
Possess communication and negotiation skills.
Strong judgments skills are also a necessity
Someone who can make ethical and moral decisions
Sociable and open minded
A person who can keep confidential information
Must have a solid knowledge of the local law and be able to grasp new concepts with ease and accuracy

Regularly examine NHCCL’s operations to ensure that all Company assets are properly recorded and safeguarded, as per NHCCL’s financial regulations.
Conduct control risk self-assessments (CRSA) in all departments in NHCCL, as per NHCCL Risk Management strategy and Departmental procedures.

Carry out systems audits of all NHCCL operations in line with the Internal Audit plan, Internal Audit Charter and International Internal Auditing Standards and other best practices.
Perform compliance tests to ensure that operational and financial processes are executed in line with NHCCL policies and regulations, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare  audit  reports  and  submit  them  to  the  Head  of  Department  (Internal  Audit)  and Management, in line with NHCCL Internal Audit Policies and Procedures.
Expeditiously follow up all recommendations on audit findings, as per NHCCL’s guidelines.
Ascertain the reliability of information systems (input, process and output), and ensure that all computerized systems comply with statutory regulations and generally accepted accounting principles, adequate financial controls, established Company plans  and  procedures, system security policies and effective systems development guidelines.
Perform any other duties as may, from time to time, be assigned by relevant authority.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The ideal applicants for the Internal Audit Officer Job should hold good Degrees in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance), or a closely related and relevant field, from a recognized University.
Accountancy or Internal Auditing professional qualification, such as ACCA, CPA, CIA, or CISA, is a must.
Good working knowledge of the standards of the International Professional Practices Framework as issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors is essential.
Computer proficiency  in  application  of  audit-related Software  and  MS  Office  Package  (Word,  Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and related packages, is essential.
