The TrypanoGEN project is a pan African scientific research consortium based at COVAB , Makerere University .
Main Duties
•Conduct and administer regular meetings with network partiners , including minute taking .
•Co-ordinate the training goals of the network .
•Organize the network annual meetings and workshops as appropriate .
•Ensure network partiners comply with safety and ethical procedures (in partinership with the ethics manager ).
•Prepare a regular newsletter for network partiners, maintain the network website and answer enquiries to the network from the public and external bodies .
Qualifications;
•Bachelors degree in any of the biological science related fields
•Proven relevant project management experience , skills and knowledge
•Post Graduate qualifications in project planning and management or public administration
•Ability to communicate effectively to a high standard with a range of people and organization s both orally and in writing .
•Highly developed problem solving and organizations skills , with an ability to meet competing deadlines .•Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others
Added Advantage
•Previous work (at least 2 years ) in a similar position
•Farmiliarity with Wellcome Trust grant operations
•Knowledge of genetics or biology or having a background in biomedical research .
•Ability to speak and write in English and French
