About UGACOM:
Ugacam is in charge of the maintenance of all the Eaton telecom sites over Uganda.
This position is responsible for managing projects across all Regions of Ugacam.
Projects include minor maintenance tasks up to and including coordination of major generator maintenance, ticketing construction remodel projects, refueling sites.
Job Summary:
The area manager is in charge of organizing and managing the human and material resources in the area specified by the program manager of the maintenance department.
The responsibilities of this position are to review and evaluate maintenance requests as they are received via the company helpdesk and determine the priority of projects:
Assigning appropriate tasks to internal technicians and those in the field.
This position is accountable for the outcome of all Projects they oversee or take the lead in, including managing project cost and timely completion.
In this position you must be available 24/7 for emergency response, often actively participating in repair and resolution. This position reports to the Program manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and prioritize maintenance and project requests from all technicians /locations.
• Identify projects which will not be scheduled
• Manage and control all the fuel supply chain for sites and vehicles in his area.
• Plan method of work and schedule appropriate technicians to complete
• Work while following company policies, and Local regulations
• Follow up on projects up to completion to ensure work meets standards for the client.
• Identify and resolve problems as they are identified using a logical resolution process.
• Develop scope of work for complex projects while maintaining attention to detail.
• Effectively communicate expectations and scope to management.
• Manage multiple jobsites in the allocated operating region.
• Regular travel to jobsites throughout the whole Region to monitor and inspect projects, sites
• Log and track all projects and work utilizing helpdesk information.
• Maintain approved contractor and supplier lists based on geographic service locations
• Manage fuel monitoring alarms across all sites in the region.
• Log and track all alarms including any repairs made.
• Work with program Manager to resolve monitoring alarm situations.
• Operate as back up for other positions in the department for all reports and incidents in the region
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Education, works experience requirements and work values
• Certificates: mechanical engineer, or electrical and automation degree
• Experience: Three to five years in power environment installation system
• Work values: Leadership, autonomy, high integrity, reporting
• Decision making: He should be in position of getting solutions to problems ASAP.
• He should have knowledge to solve all technical faults on sites.
• He should be in position to analyze all mechanical faults reported in reference to the fleet manager
• Computer literacy skills: He should be in position to use the Microsoft, excel to ensure reports are sent on time and communicate efficiently.
• Health and safety skills: He should ensure that the whole team work in a SAFE manner at all times and report all accidents immediately. Make sure that PPE is in proper use.
• Communication skills: Communicate effectively and professionally with team members and the management.
