Job Title: Supply Chain and Logistics Advisor

Duties and Responsibilities:


·         Working with MOH and EGPAF country team, the Supply Chain and Logistics Advisor will coordinate the procurement of the repackaging materials (Pratt pouches) and repackaging of Nevirapine suspension at National Medical Stores (NMS).

·         She/he will work closely work with National Drug Authority to ensure that the required regulatory process for introducing the repackaged Nevirapine suspension are finalized.

·         The Supply Chain and Logistics Advisor will coordinate and work with implementing partners and district health teams to ensure timely forecasting, quantification and ordering of the repackaged Nevirapine suspension as part of the existing supply chain ordering and reporting process for HIV commodities. She/he will lead the process of developing the national roll-out plan that will introduce the Pratt Pouch to Expand Infant Nevirapine Prophylaxis.

·         She/he will also participate in the development of training packages, standard operating procedures (SOPs), tools and job aides that will guide the roll out of the repackaged Nevirapine suspension.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


·         A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy with five years of professional experience in procurement and supply chain management of medicines and commodities to support delivery of key HIV and MNCH services.

·         Strong analytical skills in relation to developing tools, methods and approaches to support improved supply chain management systems and quality assurance policies.

·         Experience in analysing supply chain and logistics information systems, identifying problems and designing solutions for both manual and computerized systems.

·         Proven ability to build capacity through formal and informal training, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing professional development

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         The Senior Technical Advisor, MNCH will lead a team of professionals (including Medical Doctors and Nutritionists) to implement the integrated health program in the districts of support.
·         She/he will work with the team of technical advisors in various program areas to provide technical guidance to the team on MNCH, FP and nutrition in implementing the regional health integrated program.
·         The person will provide technical leadership and oversight in the development, focusing and implementation of MNCH, FP and Nutrition activities.
·         S/he will work closely with the Foundation’s Technical Director and other program technical staff to ensure technical quality of the intervention design and implementation.
·         S/he will also work closely with the other EGPAF’s Technical Advisors in identification and provision of technical support; and ensure standard procedures in quality of care are adhered to during training and implementation.
·         This position will ensure the technical and methodological soundness of activities and, in collaboration with the project team and partners, support the design of service delivery strategies, based on sound and current scientific evidence.
·         This position supervises a team of Technical Advisors including MNCH Advisors, Family Planning Advisor and Nutrition Advisor.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree with master’s degree in either Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Public Health, or related field and minimum of five (5) years’ experience with demonstrable technical skills in a technical advisory role in MNCH/FP/Nutrition services.
·         Proven ability to build capacity through formal and informal training, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing professional development in maternal, new born and child health, family planning and nutrition.
·         Experience in managing quality improvement interventions and technical/institutional capacity building programs primarily through a technical assistance approach.
·         Experience in leading project activities in implementation and proven ability to advise project management, motivate and mentor staff at key positions to create a positive team environment.
·         Demonstrable understanding of the Ugandan health care system, particularly the public health system (district health services) and good knowledge of the community support structures.
·         Strong oral and written communication, presentations and report writing skills in English. Strong skills in word processing and Excel spread sheets.
