Location: Kampala

Job Purpose
•    The job holder is a senior expert responsible for leading the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of major complex public health communications and marketing programmes and campaign for attainment of AID free generation in the Republic of Uganda
Key functions:
•    Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of major national or international communication and marketing programmes, projects and strategies for the lay and professional audiences
•    Directing and guiding the development, testing and timely dissemination of science and audience based products, tools and message to different audience in variety of formats
•    Providing expert consultation and technical expertise in the creation of strategic and integrated plans and strategies for public health communication and marketing programmes, campaigns and activities
•    Conducting research and evaluation activities related to health, communication and marketing
•    Working with the ministry of health management to ensure that the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision, value are integrated into the health communication or marketing programme or project strategies, goals, objectives, work plan and work projects and services
•    Serving as liaison between the MOH and other USG development partners and IPS, linking the department of Health promotion and education of the MOH
•    Working with ACP team to communicate to staff the outcomes of staff performance reviews
•    Developing periodic reports and submission to relevant authorities
Qualifications:
•    Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Affairs or Public Policy
•    Must have masters degree in mass communication or development studies or Public health
•    Possession of a post graduate qualification in management, project planning and management would be an added advantage
•    Possession of a fellowship in HIV is an added advantage
•    Must have at least nine years relevant working experience implementing HIV program five of which would be in Behavior change communication
Competencies:
•    Experience in web design and database management
•    Professional writing and editing experience in English
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Good team work player, net working communication
•    Expertise in commonly used communication  and desk top publication
