Job Title: Field Study Coordinator

About NCHE:

Epicentre is a Non-Government Organization created by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical research, field epidemiology and training.

Job Summary:

The Job holder will be responsible for all field operations will be managed by the field study coordinator, responsible for the coordination of day-to-day recruitment in the study.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Oversee the surveyors, the nurses who will perform the NP swabs and the data management team responsible for the double-entry and validation of all data collected on the standard CRFs
-Ensure completeness and consistency of the study data
-Support and respond to requests from the study site to the PI, the Co-PI, the co Investigators on study related matters
-Participate in all study relevant meetings and update the team on study progress
-Perform other duties as assigned by the PI, the co-PI, the Medical and studies coordinator, the Director of Epicentre Mbarara and the Director of the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

-The candidate should hold a Medical degree
-At least five years of experience trial/ study conduct
-Working experience in Uganda
-Knowledge of ICH-GCP requirements
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-High level of organizational and record keeping skills
-Excellent proven written and verbal English
-Excellent team player and used to work in multi-professional and multicultural teams
-Recognized ICH-GCP certificate
-Proven written and verbal English

Job Conditions:  Status : local Epicentre short-term contract -2 months contract starting November 2013.
