Job Summary:
The major role of this job is to manage the strategic projects undertaken by the Operations department, from inception to post implementation, review where applicable, and recommend strategic direction for the department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Budget, manage and implement all assigned Operation's projects
-Present project budgets for approval before the commencement of the project
-Offer advice to the Manager Enablement & Change of any real or possible threats that may impact any project adversely
-Responsible for communication between all related stakeholders before the commencement, during and after the implementation of the projects
-Ensure that projects remain within the project scope and that all project objectives are met
-Maintain a constant review of the project plans with the centre project team
-Ensure adherence to change control procedures for changes made to the project plans or mandate Manage post implementation evaluation of projects
-Ensure that all projects are delivered in time and on budget
-Develop and implement initiatives to reduce costs and ensure that budgets for the continuous improvement area are met
-Ensure that throughput is maximised throughout the strategic projects area by implementing principles lean manufacturing and Six Sigma

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

-The applicant should hold a Business degree and additional certification in Six Sigma would be an added advantage
-Prior project management to a tune of three years in a senior role preferred
-Knowledge of the strategic planning process
-Ability to deal with a diversity of situations
-Ability to interact at senior management levels and to build cross functional work- groups
-Experience and broad knowledge of the banking environment
-Practical process / project management experience
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (across the business)
-Creative, analytical with good problem solving skills
-Conflict management skills and ability to manage ambiguity
-Self-driven, values based, innovative, independent adaptive and results orientated person
