Job Title: Human Resource Officer - In charge of Occupational Health & Safety

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Actively promote & ensure occupational health and safety at the factory and develop safer and healthier ways of working
• Inspect workplaces and workplace equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations & safety standards
• Ensure that personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, dust masks, safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets, is being used in workplaces according to regulations
• Identify potential accident, unsafe working conditions and health hazards/risks and implement appropriate control measures or remedial actions
• Record and report hazards, manage accidents, injuries and health issues within the factory
• Carry out training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices and legislation
• Actively coordinate emergency procedures, firefighting and first aid crews
• Manage all staff welfare and medical needs

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree/diploma qualification in Human Resource Management
• Possession of a diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
• Working knowledge of local languages is an added advantage. (Eastern Uganda and West Nile)
• Excellent communication & training skills
• Discretion and respect for confidentiality and privacy
