Reports to: Officer in Charge of Transport

About Us:
The Government of Uganda is to implement the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP), under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development (MGLSD). The overall objective of the Programme is to address the escalating problem of Youth Unemployment in Uganda.

Job Summary: The job holders will drive and maintain the vehicle in accordance with the transport policy; and as directed by the supervising officer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Driving vehicles for official duty and assignments;
-Carrying out basic maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle;
-Reporting major technical mechanical faults to the supervising officer;
-Maintaining basic records regarding the vehicles as instructed;
-Ensuring the safety of the vehicle while on duty.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

-All candidates must be Ugandans possessing the following:-A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a pass in English Language.
-Possess valid driving permit of class E, held for the last three years.
-Driving experience in a reputable organization for at least two years.
-Basic Knowledge of mechanical and vehicle maintenance;
-Clean driving record;

 Personal Competencies: Public Relations and Customer Care;. Time Management; and Flexibility, Ethics and Integrity
