Job Title:  Assistant Editor, Law Reports

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect decisions from all courts of record in Uganda.
  • Organize court decisions for summarizing and editing.
  • Edit summaries for printing and publishing of ULR and HCBs.
  • The incumbent will style manuscripts of ULR and HCBs.
  • Responsible for conducting manuscript review and production.
  • Prepare indices of the published titles.
  • In charge of revising old publications.
  • Prepare and maintain files of ULR and HCBs.
  • Perform any other work assigned by the Editor or Head of Department.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from a recognized university. Possession of a Master’s degree in law from a recognized university is an added advantage. Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Centre.
  • At least three years’ experience in law reporting or law reform/revision work.
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • The applicants must be enrolled advocates
  • The applicant must also be a person of high integrity.

Salary Scale: LS6 (1,500,000 – 2,599,999)

Age: Below 35 years
