Job Title: Curriculum Specialist (BTVET –Agriculture)

Organisation: National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC)

About NCDC:

The National Curriculum Development Centre is a corporate body under the Ministry of Education and Sports. It is responsible for inter-alia development of curricula and related materials for various level of education (i.e. Pre- Primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), organizing capacity building courses for stakeholders on curricula and matters related to curriculum.

Job Summary:
The Curriculum Specialist (BTVET –Agriculture) will develop curricula and curriculum related materials.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Initiates and develops ideas on curricular reforms.
-Develops and. prepares subject syllabi, teachers’ manuals, texts and other related curriculum materials.
-Organizes and conducts writing workshops.
-Writes, coordinates and edits curriculum units developed by the panel and other teachers.
-Organizes and conducts orientation courses for teachers.
-Popularizes education in the relevant subject.
-Services the subject panel by planning and convening meetings, preparing working papers and furnishing the necessary data and relevant research reports.
-Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

-The applicant should possess a  Masters degree in Agriculture or related fields
-Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Diploma/Certificate in Agricultural related field
-A qualification in education will be an added advantage
-At least four years teaching experience at a technical college or institution of higher learning and field experience in agricultural related work.
-Age: Below 50 years
