Job Title: Documentation Officer

Organization: Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development (MGLSD)
Project: Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Programme Manager

About Us:
The Government of Uganda is to implement the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP), under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development (MGLSD). The overall objective of the Programme is to address the escalating problem of Youth Unemployment in Uganda.

Job Summary:

The Documentation Officer will manage documents and information related to the implementation of YLP.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Set up and maintain a manual as well as electronic record filing system for the project consistent with the Government filing system.
-Manage and maintain the documents in the Centre and ensure their availability and easy accessibility.
-Contribute to content development of in-house publications
-Design, edit, proof read and print in-house publications
-Provide information service to key stakeholders;
-Assess user information needs. vii. Identify and acquire relevant information sources.
-Liaise with other projects to obtain and share information of mutual interest.
-Perform any other duties assigned from time to time by the Programme Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

All applicants must be Ugandans possessing the following:- an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science / Management Information Science from a recognised University/Institution.
At least three (3) years relevant working experience from a reputable organisation.

Personal Competencies:

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; computer literacy, Ethics and Integrity.
